Questions About Clear Braces
Colorado Springs, Colorado
If you have been on the hunt for another method aside from traditional braces to straighten your teeth you may have come across clear braces, also known as Invisalign. As a patient you probably have questions regarding the system and how it works. Below are some FAQs to help you.
What Are Clear Braces?
Clear braces make up the Invisalign system that utilizes nearly-invisible aligners to slowly straighten your teeth, putting them into a more aesthetically pleasing position. With this system you are required to wear aligners every day, but can remove them for eating and cleaning. Every few weeks you are fitted with another aligner that will further bring your teeth into a more ideal position. After a few months to a year your teeth will be straighter than ever!
How Do Clear Braces Work?
Clear braces are clear tray aligners that are each custom made to fit your teeth. Each aligner is different from the previous one as they are shaped to gently move the teeth according to the plan Dr. Hall has created. Clear aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours a day but can be removed at any time. The straightening of the teeth is very gradual with this system and may take up to a year for final results.
Clear or Metal? Which Braces Solution is Right For Me?
Clear braces and traditional metal braces can both be used to achieve the same goals. The method of treatment largely depends on the diagnosis as well as the personal preferences of the patient. Clear braces aren’t suitable for some patients just as metal braces are not the best option for others. Patients tend to like clear braces more due to their flexiblity, however, not all patients are candidates for clear braces. The best way to determine if clear braces are a good choice for you is to come in for a complimentary consult with Dr. Hall.
